A tool for aiding in evaluation of a data communication local area network system comprising a serial transmission line on which are coupled, at points distributed at intervals, a plurality of data processing stations, operating by checking the operation of the means handling collisions in the stations, said tool comprising a transceiver for connection to the bus line (10) and comprising a device for detecting collisions (70) and a coupler, characterized in that it further comprises means (64, 44, 46, 50, 54, 56, 58, 60) for generating data trames having an adjustable length onto the bus line in response to detection of the presence of data on the bus line, said generation means being arranged for delivering a collision trame when it has detected a predetermined number of presences. |
