Lubricating oil pump in motor vehicles

In an internal-gear lubricating oil pump, which is particularly space-saving and simple to drive, the internal gear wheel sits on a shaft journal in a torsion-proof manner. Difficulties arise with the precise centring of the pump during assembly. These difficulties are to be overcome by the novel pump. Into the centring hole (locating hole) of the pump casing, a circumferential groove is recessed, and a centring ring made of plastic is inserted into the groove. As a centring aid, the hole of the centring ring has three or more projections of equal length, which point radially inwards and, when the casing is pushed onto the shaft journal, ensure accurate seating. Owing to the novel centring ring, trouble-free and rapid assembly of the pump becomes possible.
