The invention relates to an electro-pneumatic actuator for air brake systems. Its object is to design the fluid dynamics and the kinetic ratios of an actuator with diaphragm piston, which is influenced by two air passages and acts by way of a pilot chamber on pilot valves so that when used in an electronic wheel slip prevention system it can react with minimum delay to any locking tendency of the wheels. According to the invention this object is achieved in that the actuator is divided into two assemblies, in each of which the air passages are designed as concentric cylinders and in which the diameters gradually widen or diminish in the vicinity of the diaphragm piston. <IMAGE>
