PURPOSE:To discriminate a form unattendedly, automatically and exactly, by utilizing a sensor moved by a manipulator and a computer to discriminate the form of the work. CONSTITUTION:If an engine 5 (namely a pallet 6) is stopped at the predetermined stopping position of an operating position, the manipulator 12 of computer control after studying is operated automatically, and the sensor 14 is moved and made to approach to the predetermined position to the part to be detected of an engine 5. The action for detecting a state of the part to be detected by the sensor 14 is performed. The detected result is compared with the data for discriminating the engine form and treated, and the engine form is discriminated. The engine form information is transferred to an engine testing apparatus, and various operations suitable for the form are performed automatically. |
