PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a hollow cast billet by arranging upper ends of the outer face and the inner face of molds lower than molten metal surface and also a brake ring having plural pouring holes and vertically oscillating the outer face and inner face molds. CONSTITUTION:The upper ends of the outer face and the inner face molds 2, 3 are arranged at the same plane lower than the surface 4a of the molten metal 4 and the refractory walls 6, 7 are arranged on these, respectively. Further, the brake ring plate 5 having plural pouring holes 8 is arranged between the walls 6, 7. At the time of supplying the molten metal 4 from a pouring nozzle 9, as the molten metal surface 4a is above the molds 2, 3 formed shells 1a, 1b is prevented from influence of variation of the molten metal surface. As the molds 2, 3 are vertically oscillated together with walls 6, 7, etc., the burnt-sticking of the shells 1a, 1b are eliminated. By this method, the quality of the hollow cast billet 1 is improved. |
