PURPOSE:To provide a low reflectivity and to obtain an excellent C/N, recording sensitivity and productivity by using a thin film consisting of a specific mixture as a protective film of an optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The thin film contg. group II-VI compds., group III-V compds., or at least >=1 kinds of As2Se3, As2S3, As-Se glass and As-S-B glass and at least >=1 kinds of nitrogen compds. is used as the protective film of the recording film. The protective film having an extremely high refractive index of >=2.0 is thereby obtd. The light absorptivity of the optical recording medium is increased and the recording sensitivity is improved by utilizing the interference effect. The improvement in the reproduction SN ratio is expected and the productivity is improved particularly when the recording film is a magneto- optical recording film. |
