PURPOSE:To improve ductility and flexibility of metallic fiber by growing a primary arm at an angle within the specific value through the rotating liquid spinning method and forming the metallic fiber having the prescribed diameter as directional dendritic structure. CONSTITUTION:Cooling liquid layer 8 is formed in a rotating drum 6 rotating at high speed and molten metal of Fe-Si based alloy, etc., is injected into the cooling liquid layer 8 from an injecting nozzle 2 at lower face of a crucible 1. Then, diameter of the nozzle 2 is set to <=100mum size and the injected molten metal is rapidly cooled and solidified, and the metallic fiber having texture of the dendritic crystal group growing the primary arm at the angle within 20 deg. to the metallic fiber axis is formed. As the molten metal stream at the time of spinning is formed to fine, the growth of crystal is changed, to form the directional dendritic fiber. By this method, brittleness of the metallic fiber is improved and the ductility and the flexibility are improved. |
