PURPOSE:To sharply improve the bromine barrier property without increasing the electric resistance of a film by constituting a separator for a metallic halogen cell with a fine porous film using polysulfonic acid resin. CONSTITUTION:A separator for a metallic halogen cell is constituted with a fine porous film using polysulfonic acid resin. This film is excellent in the bromine barrier property as compared with the conventional fine porous film with the same hole diameter, the electric resistance of the film is sufficiently low to be used as the separator for the metallic halogen cell. When the cell is operated for a long time using this separator, the self-discharge is suppressed low, and the Coulomb efficiency and the energy efficiency are improved. |
