PURPOSE:To obtain a cell stable against vibration by using powdery zinc with the mercury amalgamation factor of 5% or above as a negative electrode active material, using an alkaline aqueous solution as an electrolyte, and heating them for 4hr or longer at the temperature of 42.9 deg.C or above. CONSTITUTION:Powdery zinc with the mercury amalgamation factor of 5% or above is used as a negative electrode active material, and an alkaline aqueous solution is used as an electrolyte. A cell is constituted of a seal plate 2, a seal packing 3, a separator 4, an air electrode 5, an air diffusion paper 6 and a positive electrode case 7 by the ordinary method. After the cell is constituted, it is heat-treated for 8hr at the temperature of 25 deg.C-60 deg.C. The powdery amalgamated zinc grains are firmly bound, the amalgamated zinc is not moved in a negative electrode container when vibration is applied, and the internal resistance is not increased. The cell stable against vibration can be thereby obtained. |
