PURPOSE:To simply improve the intensity of a bias magnetic field and to attain accurate erasing and recording by forming a hard protecting layer on a recording medium and sliding a bias magnetic field impressing means with contact to erase/record information. CONSTITUTION:The hard protection layer 11 such as reinforced glass is formed on a magneto-optical disk and a prescribed oil layer or the like is applied to the layer 11 to reduce friction. A permanent magnet or an electromagnet to be a magnetic field generating element 3 having 1st and 2nd bias magnetic field impressing means 12, 13 is slid on the protection layer 11 while coming into contact with the layer 11 to erase/record information. Consequently, the intensity of the bias magnetic field can be simply improved and accurate erasing and recording can be executed. In addition, the generation of vibration can be prevented and the magnetic field generating element 3 can be miniaturized in accordance with the improvement of the magnetic field. |
