PURPOSE:To increase the surface area per a unit length and to improve the efficiency of heat transfer, by a method wherein the closed pipe of a heat pipe to transfer heat by means of latent heat produced when sealed working liquid is changed between a liquid and a gas phase is formed in a spiral shape. CONSTITUTION:A long closed pipe 11 sealed with working fluid is bent to form the shape of a coil spring, and the effective length of a closed pipe 11 is set to a value being at least several times as long as that in an axial direc tion of a heat pipe 10 itself. Since the efficiency of heat transfer of the heat pipe proportions to a square of a ratio of a length if the closed pipes have the same size as each other, the spiral type heat pipe 10 is extremely increased in the efficiency of heat transfer as compared with a linear type heat pipe having the same length in an axial direction as that of the spiral type heat pipe if the closed pipes have the same size as each other. This constitution compacts a device and reduces a cost. |
