PURPOSE:To obtain an antifouling agent exhibiting the antifouling effect over a long period without causing environmental pollution, by dissolving a polymerized vegetable drying oil and a sticker component composed of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin or a synthetic rubber in an organic solvent and adding a metal naphthenate to the solution. CONSTITUTION:The objective antifouling agent for fishing net having a viscosity of 100-1,000 poise is produced by dissolving (A) 20-50wt.% of a polymerized vegetable drying oil produced by polymerizing linseed oil, tung oil, soybean oil, etc., and (B) 6-15wt.% of a sticker component composed of an ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer resin or a synthetic rubber in (C) an organic solvent (preferably xylene). The antifouling agent can be safely handled and is effective in preventing the adhesion of marine life to the treated fishing net without causing the pollution of seawater. The fishing net treated with the antifouling agent has remarkably improved weather resistance, light resistance and seawater resistance and keeps the water-repellency and lubricity over a long period. The sticking property can be furhter improved by the addition of 0.01-1.0wt.% of a metal naphthenate. |
