PURPOSE:To rapidly judge a wheel-lock condition by providing a plurality of vehicle speed detecting means, setting the steering ratio of rear wheels in accordance with a vehicle speed obtained from the outputs thereof, and judging a wheel lock condition from the output of one vehicle speed detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel steering device 10 has a steering ratio control mechanism 64 whose input shaft is a rear wheel steering shaft 60 interlocked with a front wheel steering device 14 and, by controlling the control motor 100 of the mechanism 64 by means of a controller 132, a control valve 46 is controlled via an output rod. In this case, first and second vehicle speed sensors 122, 124 are provided on each of separate rotating members, and a vehicle speed is detected from the average value of a plurality of latest vehicle speed signals out of the outputs of these sensors 122, 124. The steering ratio of rear wheels is set in accordance with the detected vehicle speed to control the control motor 100. Also, a wheel lock condition is detected from the output of one vehicle speed sensor 122 and, at the time of detecting wheel lock, prescribed lock control is carried out. |
