PURPOSE:To obtain the title ceramics having high sintering density and bending strength by dry-mixing and pulverizing the carbide of a group VIa metal of the periodic table and the boride of a group IVa metal to obtain powder of a prescribed average particle size and by preforming and sintering the powder. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of carbides of group VIa metals of the periodic table, e.g., Cr3C2, Mo2C and WC and one or more kinds of borides of group IVa metals, e.g., TiB2, ZrB2 and HfB2 are put in a ball mill or the like, dry-mixed and pulverized to obtain powder of <=10mum average particle size. This powder is preformed and sintered at 1,400-2,200 deg.C in vacuum. |
