<p>PURPOSE:To avoid the recording of an unnecessary television broadcasting signal by operating the recording with a recording and reproducing device main body only when the transmission mode of the television broadcasting signal is the transmission mode to be designated in advance and stopping the recording operation in other transmission mode. CONSTITUTION:In a transmission mode deciding circuit 5, based on a pilot signal, whether the transmission mode of the television broadcasting signal to be presently broadcasted is a monorail, a stereo or a double sound, for example, is decided. Next, the transmission mode of the television broadcasting signal, which is decided by the deciding circuit 5, and the transmission mode, which is designated by an external input device 7 in advance, are compared by a transmission mode comparator 6. As a result, when both transmission modes are same, a recording switch 8 is turned on and the recording operation of a recording and reproducing device main body 3 is executed. When both transmission modes are different, the recording switch 8 is turned off and the recording operation of the recording and reproducing device main body 3 is stopped. Thus, the unnecessary television broadcasting signal can be removed.</p> |
