The method for braking rolling stock relates to continuous light-section mills, preferably to the production of bar steel, in particular to the controlled braking and flush deposition of the cut steel bars on the cooling bed. According to the invention, this method is achieved by determining the lift-out time in such a way that, on the one hand, the end of the bar to be braked is no further from the deflector or the end of the separating flaps than the maximum permissible overhang at the lift-out time and the bar is thus drawn completely onto the lift-out slides, and, on the other hand, the tip of the following bar only reaches the deflector or the end of the separating flaps when the lift-out slides overhang the top edge of the roller table by a certain minimum amount, this bar thus being prevented from running onto the lift-out slides. <IMAGE> |
