<p>PURPOSE:To effectively compress multilevel picture data by expressing it by a binary picture capable of specifying a continuous picture element area with the same value and table information in which the value in the multilevel picture is made to correspond at every labeling area, and transmitting or accumulating it. CONSTITUTION:The binary picture B for the multilevel picture A is obtained by binarization. Next, every continuous area of the picture element with the same value in the binary picture B is obtained as the labeling area, and label codes different from each other are attached to every labeling area, and a label picture C is obtained. At that time, the table information D, which shows what value the picture element in the area takes in the multilevel picture A, is obtained at every label area. Then, the table information D and the binary picture B are made to be a pair, and are used for the information transmission or the information accumulation of the multilevel picture. Thus, the multilevel picture can be effectively data-compressed, and its data quantity can be reduced.</p> |
