GUIDE DEVICE FOR RECORDING PAPER

PURPOSE:To prevent the blurring phenomenon of characters and the deterioration of a picture image, by conducting the recording paper prior to transfer nearer the image holding body side than the tangent of the surface of the image holding body in an effective transfer region of a transfer means or near the same. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 16 for advancing for conducting recording paper P to a transfer electrode 6 is installed in such a shape at which the forward end part B on the outlet side of the paper P is positioned upper than the tangent C of a rotary drum 3 consisting of a photoreceptor in the position M nearest the advance side of the paper P in the effective transfer region A. The distance D between the part B of the plate 16 and the surface of the drum 3 in this stage is preferably kept within 1.5mm.. The part B of the plate 16 approaches fairly to the drum 3 with such constitution; therefore, the paper P guided by the same is pressed successively from the forward end of said paper P to the drum 3 side by the part B of the plate 16 and is fed to the inside of the region A in a tight contact, whereby the transfer is accomplished exactly and the blurring phenomenon of character is made difficult to arise.
