PURPOSE:To brake with excellent efficiency by providing windings to be switched to a plurality kind of poles on a stator, switching the number of the poles in case of stopping a motor, and generating a generative action. CONSTITUTION:The windings 22, 23 of first and second stators 24, 25 are connected in series, and connected to a commercial 3-phase power source. Revolving magnetic fields are generated at the stators 24, 25 thereby to induce a voltage at a rotor 7, a current flows to the conductors 6,... of the rotor 7, thereby rotating the rotor 7. A small-sized motor 30 is operated to alter the phase of the magnetic flux of the revolving magnetic field formed by the first and second stators 24, 25, thereby altering its speed. The windings 22, 23 are formed for the number of poles to be switched, and the numbers of the poles of the windings 22, 23 are altered at the time of braking, thereby braking a motor by regenerative braking. |
