This pumping installation includes a pump provided with drive means 2 combined with motor means 7 located at the surface of a borehole and dual-acting means 1 for lifting and forcing the fluids to be pumped, of the piston and cylinder type, located at the bottom of this borehole. These lifting and forcing means 1 are connected to the drive means 7 by means of two actuation pipelines 4 filled with pumped fluid, extending into the borehole and each opening out into a corresponding chamber defined by a cylinder 9 in which there slide two pistons 10 which are secured together and spaced apart from one another. Two other chambers of this same cylinder are each connected to respective lifting and forcing pipes so that by moving the pistons 10 in the cylinder 9 the fluid is lifted and forced into a discharge pipe 5 opening out at the surface. <IMAGE>
