Framework designed to act as a flat, stable support for all coverings on irregular, unstable and out-of-plumb supports. It comprises metal clips 1 and wooden laths. It is characterised in that the clips 1 comprise means 5 of being associated with a fixing lug 20 provided with means 21, 22 of being hooked to the primary support. Characteristics are described for the association of the clips with the fixing lugs 25, 26 and for hooking the fixing lugs to the primary support. According to other characteristics, the lath has grooves like notches and a support face for the covering wider than the opposite face. <IMAGE>
