The invention relates to an arrangement of an air-conditioning device in a motor vehicle, of the type including a heat exchanger 28 located inside a fixed casing 38 of the passenger compartment 40 of the vehicle and which is connected to a heat transfer fluid circuit 24-26 associated with a motor unit 16 situated in an engine compartment separated from the passenger compartment by a partition (bulkhead) 44. According to the invention, the partition (bulkhead) includes an opening 48 which is arranged to interact with part of the casing receiving the exchanger 28 so as to allow the insertion and installation of the latter in the casing during the operation for mounting the motor unit 16 on the body of the vehicle, to the fluid circuit 24-26 of which motor unit the exchanger 30, 32 has been connected beforehand. <IMAGE>
