Mains-independent electronic balance

In an electronic balance, solar cells (5) for the supply of electrical energy are mounted in a fashion suitable for the form of the balance, and storage means exist for the storage of the electrical current generated by the solar cells (5). The solar cells (5) are, for example, arranged in a hinged lid (7) which protects the unused balance and is hinged up when putting into operation. Furthermore, there is a display (9) for the charging condition of the storage means (76) (Fig. 1).
