A vehicle with internal combustion engine is connected at its rear via a detachable coupling to a two-wheeled unit which is capable of pushing or pulling the vehicle even when the internal combustion engine is at a standstill. For this purpose, both wheels of the unit are connected to one another individually or by means of a differential gear and driven or braked together by an electric motor, the batteries serving to output current or drain current, their switching system and charging device being accommodated in the unit and borne thereby.
