The invention relates to a pressure-regulating valve with a pilot-control valve. A consumer connection can be connected selectively to a pump and to a tank by the main regulating piston. The main regulating piston is loaded by the pump pressure counter to the control pressure. The control-pressure space is connected to the pump-feedline. The pilot-control valve regulates the flow-off from the control-pressure space to a lower pressure level. The regulating behaviour of the pressure-regulating valve is thereby improved. Moreover, the pilot-controlled valve supplies a pre-holding force which initiates an early closing movement of the main regulating piston, so that the transient behaviour is improved.
