A double clamping system for cutting inserts is described, which consists of a clamping bolt (9) with spring bow (11), a gripping slide (8) and a gripping bolt (2) with a clamping finger (7). The clamping bolt is situated in a bore which passes through the bottom of the receiving shoulder for the cutting insert so that the head of the clamping bolt (12) projects into the bore of the cutting insert (13). The gripping bolt is situated in a further bore parallel to the clamping bolt outside the receiving shoulder. At the top, it is drawn upwards in relation to the tool holder (1), by a lockable nut (6) which is provided with a clamping finger (7), and presses an axially conical extension (3) at its opposite end tangentially against a gripping slide (8). This slides with a nose into a cutout (10) of the clamping bolt (9) and at the same time cants the clamping bolt about a support (15) in such a manner that the cutting insert (13) is pressed into the receiving shoulder of the tool holder, the gripping finger of the gripping bolt simultaneously pressing against the cutting insert. <IMAGE>
