In a circuit arrangement for monitoring a plurality of power outputs connected in parallel, to achieve a cost-effective monitoring circuit having low losses, all power outputs (11-14) are led via a common measuring resistor (30). A flip-flop (28) is set by means of each starting pulse for the power outputs (11-14). A comparator (28) compares the measured voltage (UM) fallin at the measuring resistor (30) with a reference voltage (Uref1) and generates a reset pulse for the flip-flop (28), as soon as the measured voltage (UM) exceeds the reference voltage (Uref1). The output potential of the flip-flop (28) effects the closing or opening of an electronic switch (31) in series with the measuring resistor (30) and is continuously evaluated to detect short circuits. The flip-flop and the comparator are advantageously formed by a comparator (28) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
