PURPOSE:To make mountability to various farm working machines and packability at the time of conveyance both improvable by letting the contour of an engine go along with an assumed square pole with a center axis paralleled with a crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:In an industrial engine 1, it consists of two sides 93A, 93B being opposed at an interval in the longitudinal direction of a cylinder 3, and other two sides 93B, 93B being opposed at an interval in a direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the cylinder 3, and assumes a square pole 93 whose center line 93C parallels a crankshaft 5 and extends out in and around the crankshaft 5. Then, a cylinder-head cover 51, a recoil starter 11, an air cleaner 55 and a muffler 65 are constituted in the square pole 93 after letting them go along with these sides 93A and 93B. In addition, a top part 103 of a cover 101 covering the upper part is formed by a quadrangle consisting a section of the square pole 93. With this constitution, it turns to advantage when the engine is mounted on various farm working machines, while even at the time of packing, a space with a plate body forming a packing box is minimized and thereby compactification can be done so that it comes to advantage from the standpoint of packing and conveyance. |
