PURPOSE:To obtain an external preparation for skin having both suppressing action on inflammation and ultraviolet light absorbing action, containing a polyglutamate. CONSTITUTION:Polyglutamic acid and/or salt thereof is used as an essential component, as necessary, properly blended with fats and oils, wax, a hydrocarbon, a fatty acid, an alcohol, an ester, a vitamin, etc., and pharmaceutically manufactured by a conventional procedure to give the aimed substance. The amount of the polyglutamic acid is 0.005-30wt.% based on the total amount of the external preparation for skin. The external preparation for skin is used as a raw material to give a cosmetic such as cream, shampoo, toilet lotion, sun screen or pack. The external preparation for skin can especially absorb and screen ultraviolet light of middle and short wavelength. |
