PURPOSE:To provide a method of producing an optical item that does not require aligning the optical axes even if a plurality of such items are used, by placing a lens material on a lens holder, and pressure molding the lens material using the lens holder as a reference to form a pressed lens. CONSTITUTION:A planar lens material 11a of a glass material or plastic material is placed in a lens holder 10 in the shape of a ring with the outer circumferential surface of the material 11a fixed to the inner surface of the lens holder 10 with an adhesive, and the lens holder 10 is fitted in a groove 12a in a fixed mold 12a to position the lens holder 10. When a movable mold 12b is lowered, a pressing surface 13c of a punch 13b presses the lens material 11a. A die 13a and the punch 13b are heated by a heater or the like, so that the lens material 11a is heated further and pressed. Then when the movable mold 12a reaches the bottom dead point, the lens material 11a is formed into a pressed lens 11 having a positive meniscus including lens surfaces 11a and 11b by the pressing surface 13c of the punch 13b and the receiving surface 13d of the die 13a. |
