Fig. 1 shows a sail drive for sailboards and other sailing craft, in which a symmetric sail 7 is tensioned on the spar 5 by means of the sail pocket 8 and on the outer tip of a control bow 10 by means of the leech. In this arrangement, the control bow is arranged outside the plane of symmetry of the sail and mounted on the spar with the front end. The mast 1 and boom 6 join the rig to the sailboard. In the case of a sail drive according to Fig. 5, two control bows 10, 10' are arranged parallel to the plane of symmetry of the sail. The main purpose of application is flying with a sailboard. <IMAGE>
