The invention provides an opening-out device, in particular for centre-hung sash windows, which is fixed on the frame, by means of a screw-on plate, in the vicinity of the centre-hung-sash bearing and exhibits an opening-out arm which can rotate fixedly on the screw-on plate and, in all positions of the sash, is in fixed sliding engagement with said sash. A locking catch is mounted on the screw-on plate such that it is prestressed in the direction of rotation, and it interacts with a camway/locking path which is provided on the opening-out arm in the region of the fixed point of articulation on the screw-in plate. The arrangement is such that, when the sash is pivoted back out of the cleaning position, the locking action of the opening-out device automatically comes fully and reliably into operation again when the ventilation end position is exceeded.
