A pivotable shroud is suitable for covering a channel which accommodates assemblies of the windscreen-wiper system. Whilst the windscreen-wiper system is in operation the shroud is pivoted into the channel by a drive unit. Known pivotable shrouds do not match the shape of the curvature of engine bonnets. In the closed position penetration of snow, ice, dirt and foliage into the channel cannot be prevented. The intention is for the novel pivotable shroud to prevent foreign bodies from penetrating into the channel even when the body surfaces are curved. The pivotable shroud, which is preferably made of hard-resilient plastic, has a guiding device which is arranged on the front sides of the shroud and causes the shroud to curve in accordance with the surface contours of the engine bonnet. To reduce the risk of freezing up, the washer jets are arranged on the lower side of the shroud. <IMAGE>
