The invention relates to a method for producing a superconductor having a superconducting layer (11) of ceramic-oxide material which is applied onto a substrate (4). The object of the invention is to disclose a method by which the superconducting layer (11) can be deposited in a quick and energy-efficient manner. According to the invention, chemical compounds in powder form are prepared which can be evaporated at low temperatures to form the superconducting layer (11). These compounds already have the metallic components which correspond to the metallic components of the ceramic-oxide material to be produced. <IMAGE>
