<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of tool management, by a method wherein tool information is transferred from a tool having a memory capable of reading and writing to an NC device, selection of a tool, correction of the size of a tool, and life management of a tool are performed. CONSTITUTION:A memory reading device 2 situated to a machine tool 1 reads tool information from non-volatile memories (a)-(e) mounted to a plurality of tools A-E and capable of reading and writing, and transfers the tool information to a RAM 8 of an NV device 5 through signal input output devices 4 and 34. A CPU 6 of the NC device 5 performs selection of a tool, correction of the size of a tool, life management of a tool, and control of selection of a machining condition, and effects given motion with the aid of a motor 15 through the working of a control part 14. Varied tool information is reversely transferred and is written in the memories (a)-(e) of the tools A-E by means of a memory reading device 2. This constitution facilitates management of tool data, and enables sharp shortening of a time required for preparation before machining.</p> |
