In a process and an apparatus for producing a solid-electrolyte capacitor, the anode wire (2) is provided with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coating in the vicinity of the point of entry into the sintered compact (1). The anode wire (2) is fastened on a comb plate (3) and is led through horizontally underneath a spray nozzle (5) with the aid of a guide table (4). The spray nozzle (5) is connected to a reservoir (7), which contains the PTFE in liquid suspension, which is fed into the spray nozzle (5) via a connecting line (6) with the aid of a pump (8), so that the anode wire (2) can be provided with the desired coating at a locally defined point by the spray jet (9). Arranged underneath the anode wire (2) is a collecting device (10), so that the unused PTFE can be returned via a further connecting line (11) into the reservoir (7). <IMAGE>
