The invention relates to a continuous-vacuum-application device for the surface treatment of wooden workpieces with liquid media, such as staining, lacquering and the like, comprising an application-medium container, a vacuum-generation device and a vacuum-application chamber. In order to enable the device according to the invention to be incorporated in a space-saving manner in existing installations and to be easily converted for a wide variety of application work, provision is made according to the invention for the vacuum-generation device including all accessories and the vacuum-application chamber to be spatially separated from the application-medium container, for the vacuum tank of the vacuum-application device to be arranged upright and the application-medium container to be arranged in a lying position, and for the parts to form, together, a spacing-saving L-shape. The vacuum-application chamber is constructed as an exchangeable component, which is adapted in each case to workpiece and optionally application medium and is also adapted in output, and is fixed laterally to the standing vacuum tank by means of a quick-connection device.
