<p>PURPOSE:To contrive to make a mounting space for a torque sensor small by arranging a leaf spring between an input and an output shaft, providing the torque sensor for the leaf spring, controlling an electric motor depending on the output of the sensor, and constituting the output shaft to be rotated via a sector gear and the like. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary case 12 is fitted in a gear case 11 with an input shaft 14, bearing and a gear case 11 concurrently bearing on an output shaft 18 arranged coaxially with the input shaft 14 so that the projected end of the output shaft 18 is interlocked with a pinion meshed with a steering rack. A space between the input and output shafts 14 and 18 is connected via a torsion bar 20, a leaf spring 21 connecting to each end section with each shaft 14 and 18 with pins 24 and 25 is concurrently provided for the connecting section of both the input and output shafts 14 and 18 so that strain gauges 22 and 23 are provided for the both ends of the leaf spring 21 for let them act as a torque sensor S. In addition, an electric motor (m) is arranged in parallel with the input and output shafts 14 and 18 within the gear case 11 in such a way that the actuation of its driving shaft 29 is transmitted to the output shaft 18 via a planetary gear type reduction gear and a sector gear 39.</p> |
