The present invention relates to a sheet of material of the cardboard or similar type, provided with a tear-off strip (2). This sheet is characterised in that the tear-off strip is delimited by four parallel lines cut to mid-depth, that is to say partially penetrating into the thickness of the sheet and divided into two pairs of cut lines (6, 7; 8, 9) provided on the two faces of the sheet respectively, and in that the two parallel cut lines (6, 7), provided on a first face (4) of the sheet, are located at a distance (d1) from one another greater than the distance (d2) between the parallel cut lines (8, 9) provided on the second face (5) of the sheet and which, seen in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the sheet, are located between the two parallel cut lines (6, 7) provided in the first face (4) of the sheet. <IMAGE>
