A connector for wires comprises a body (20) having through passage (21) for receiving pair of oppositely directed wire end portions (22A, 22B) in close lengthwise relationship with each other, inclined channels within the body (20) one to each side of the through passage and a wedge (25A, 25B) within each channel, which, on attempted withdrawal of either of the wire end portions (22A, 22B) from the through passage (21) urge the wires therebetween forcibly towards each other, whereby friction secures them firmly in the connector. The body may consist of metal or plastics, in one piece or several. The wedge may be spring and ball with a coil spring (Fig. 5) or a leaf spring (Fig. 14). <IMAGE> |
