For extracting the remains of fractured tooth roots (4) by means of an extraction screw (21), an impression tray (11) containing an impression compound (13) is used, after the tooth extraction, to take an impression of the extraction site (2). A recess (14) is then made in the base (12) of the impression tray (11) in the area of the extraction site (2), and this recess is used for the pivotable holding of a guide member (15) provided at least partially with a spherically curved outer surface (16). The guide member (15) is then aligned with the tooth root (4) to be extracted and is connected rigidly to the impression tray (11). The extraction screw (21) is then preferably screwed into a preliminary bore (5) in the tooth root (4) and, with the aid of a knurled nut (24) supported on the guide member (15), is displaced and in this way the tooth root (4) is extracted. By means of this procedure, it is possible to extract even a small root fragment safely and in a short period of time from an alveolus without any surgical intervention and, consequently, without any significant strain being imposed on the patient. <IMAGE> |
