PURPOSE:To enable a user to enjoy a normal moving image as a slave picture in case of absence of right and left shutters by thinning out horizontal and vertical components of right and left image signals to generate a contracted composite image signal and displaying this signal on a part of a stereoscopic image display screen. CONSTITUTION:Right and left image signals for stereoscopic image-display which are outputted in time division at a vertical synchronizing period pass right left shutters 18 and 17 which are switched synchronously with these video outputs, and a stereoscopic image is seen. The contracted composite image signal for moving image reproduction is generated from right and left image signals even if they do not pass right and left shutters 18 and 17, and the right and left image signals are switched to this generated signal and this signal is outputted to display the moving image as a slave picture 15 on a part of the image display part. Thus, the device is so constituted that not only the stereoscopic image but also the normal moving image true can be displayed, and the user can enjoy the image even in case of absence of right and left shutters. |
