<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of unusual noise and the like due to back lash accompanied by a gear type device by directly connecting a steering gear with the output shaft of an electric motor with a pulley ratio greater than the reduction ratio of a reduction gear by means of belt connection. CONSTITUTION:Steering force applied to an input shaft 1 connected with a steering wheel is transmitted to a pinion shaft 6 via a torsion bar 13 in such a way that a rack shaft 5 for steering is displaced to the axial direction via a pinion gear 6b by rotating the shaft 6. The end section of the input shaft 1 side is formed with a gear 6a so that the gear 6a is connected for meshing with a gear 12a via idler gears 11a and 11b, which is provided for the output shaft of an electric motor 12 for letting it act as a reduction gear. In addition, a bobbin 29 is rotatably coupled with the output shaft of the electric motor 12, then, a belt 26 is installed between the gear 6a and the bobbin 29 in such a way that force is transmitted between the gear 6a and the output shaft of the motor 12 via the belt 26.</p> |
