PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance and durability of a recording medium by providing a protective layer consisting of B or compd. essentially consisting of B on a magnetic recording surface and further, providing perfluoropolyether having a 5-membered ring, 6-membered ring or 7-membered ring which is a heterocycle contg. at least one N and contains at least one double bonds within said ring as a lubricating layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium is constituted by providing the protective layer 2 consisting of the B or the compd. essentially consisting of the B on the magnetic recording surface and providing the perfluoropolyether having the 5-membered ring, 6-membered ring or 7-membered ring which is the heterocycle contg. at least one N and contains at least one double bonds within the ring at the terminal as the lubricating layer 1 on said layer. The terminal functional group of the lubricating agent 1 is strongly attracted to the surface of the protective layer 2 consisting of the B or essentially consisting of the B so that the medium surface it stably lubricated for a long period of time in the case of using such perfluoropolyether as the lubricating agent. The durability and corrosion resistance of the thin film type magnetic recording medium are thereby greatly improved. |
