PURPOSE:To suppress fluctuation of a pattern caused when a picture is changed without losing the reply of the system by solving a problem that the pattern is fluctuated when the picture is changed and a video camera is slowly panning with respect to the image pickup device provided with an automatic focus means for the video camera or the like. CONSTITUTION:An automatic focus matching means is provided with an angular velocity sensor 15 detecting an angular velocity of a camera mounted to the image pickup device with respect to space, an angular velocity sensor drive circuit 16 driving the angular velocity sensor, and an angular velocity component detection circuit 17 detecting the angular velocity component from an output of the angular velocity sensor, a gain control circuit 18 is controlled by the quantity of the angular velocity component detected by the angular velocity component detection circuit 17 to adjust the gain of the system, then an automatic focus matching means with fast response and excellent stability is realized. |
