PURPOSE:To obtain the early, uniform and stable coagulation state of lead powder grains and improve the battery performance by feeding the lead powder immediately after production through the wet air and keeping the absorbed moisture quantity on surface layers of lead powder grains at the specific value. CONSTITUTION:The raw material lead powder for paste is fed through the 100% wet air at 30-50 deg.C after production so that the absorbed moisture quantity of the raw material lead powder after being fed through the wet air is kept at 0.03-0.05wt.%. As a result, the granulating effect occurs, the average grain size reaching the equilibrium is increased, and the metal lead quantity serving as a yardstick of the stability of lead powder is decreased at an early stage. The coagulation state of lead powder grains can be thereby stabilized at an early stage, and the battery performance, the initial capacity in particular, can be improved. |
