PURPOSE:To obtain low-density paste which is advantageous in making a battery lightweight by dispersing cellulose fine powder in paste by kneading in addition to lead powder mainly made of lead and lead oxide. CONSTITUTION:Cellulose fine powder 1wt.% against lead powder is added to lead powder together with lignin, acetylene black and barium sulfate, and the mixture is kneaded with water and dilute sulfuric acid by a blade type kneading machine. As a result, the cellulose fine powder is swollen due to the liquid absorbing property of cellulose and held between active material grains, the paste with much moisture content has the hardness equal to or higher than the conventional one due to the flow resistance derived from the bar shape of the cellulose fine powder. The low-density paste which is advantageous in making a battery lightweight can be thereby obtained. |
