PURPOSE:To decrease friction and to stably obtain a good image by coating ceramics contg. Ti and/or W atoms on the surface of a toner holding body and control member for forming a thinner layer. CONSTITUTION:A ceramics layer 55A is coated on the surface of a developing roller 55 to a uniform thickness and ceramics layers 57A and 57B are coated on the surface of an elastic blade 57 as well at a uniform thickness. The Ti and/or W atom-contg. ceramics used for this device has particularly high hardness and excellent wear resistance and, therefore, the wear of the developing roller 55 and the elastic blade 57 by the friction between the same is effectively decreased by coating of such ceramics on the same. The good image is thus stably obtd. even if the developing device is operated for a long period of time. |
