PURPOSE:To utilize the electric power and hydrogen at the time of the start and stop of a fuel cell by providing a secondary cell capable of being discharged and charged for the fuel cell and as a hydrogen source necessary for the catalyst deoxidation of a desulfurizer. CONSTITUTION:A secondary cell 20 using hydrogen for reaction is provided, electric systems of the secondary cell 20 and a fuel cell 1 are connected, the secondary cell 20 is electrically utilized by the discharge of the secondary cell 20 when the fuel cell is stopped or the like. The electric power is fed from the fuel cell 1 to the secondary cell 20 to allow it to be charged when the fuel cell is in operation. The gas system of the fuel cell 1 and the gas system of the secondary cell 20 are connected with a line 21 so that part of the gas discharged from the anode 3 or the fuel cell 1 can be fed to the secondary cell 20, the gas system of the secondary cell 20 is connected to the inlet side of the desulfurizer 7 on a line 4 with a line 22 so that the hydrogen H2 stored by the secondary cell 20 can be fed to the gas system of the fuel cell 1, thus gas can be fed to each other between the fuel cell 1 and the secondary cell 2. |
