Latent fingerprint on a sample is detected using appts. in which a laser beam forms a fluorescent image. The appts. includes a detector head with an integral image receiving unit and image monitoring unit. There is a power source unit for the laser and an image memory processing unit for addn. or redn. memory processing of the images. A control circuit unit synchronously controls the power source unit and the image memory processing unit.
